The method to solve the shrinkage defects of castings is:
(1) Fast solidification is carried out in the thick and hot joints of machine tool castings, artificially causing the basic balance of temperature field in all parts of machine tool castings. Use inside and outside cold iron, local use heat storage zirconium sand, chrome iron ore or special coating.
(2) Reasonable process design. The inner gate is located at the relative thin wall of the machine tool casting. So that the earliest into the thick wall of the metal liquid solidification first, after the solidification of the thin wall, so that the basic equilibrium solidification. For machine tool castings with uniform wall thickness, multiple inner sprue and air outlet are used. Many inner sprue, scattered and evenly distributed, so that the overall heat balance. Based on the principle of "thermal balance", scientific analysis should be made on Ju casting, reasonable process plan should be formulated, suitable molding materials, tooling and correct operation should be selected and standardized. Then the shrinkage defects of any machine tool castings can be solved.
